Early Years Count Programs

Lydia is the visionary leader and driving force behind Early Years Count (EYC), where she oversees strategy, partnerships, and programs to transform early childhood development (ECD) across Uganda. With over 20 years of experience in ECD advocacy and community mobilization, Lydia has positioned EYC as a nationally recognized leader in creating systemic change for Uganda’s youngest children.

A passionate advocate for equitable access to quality ECD, Lydia works closely with government ministries (including MOES, MOH, and MGLSD), civil society organizations, and global partners to:

  • Scale evidence-based ECD interventions for marginalized communities

  • Influence national policies and investments in early learning

  • Empower parents and caregivers with science-backed tools
